After four years of toil it was jubilations at St Lukes Kimilili Boys High school on opening of a two storey multi- million dormitory to help cater for the boarding needs of the ever increasing population in the school.

In a mass conducted to bless the dormitory Bungoma Diocese Catholic Church general Vicar John Ogalo called upon the students to utilize on the quality facilities the school boosts of to help them excel in the national exams and be successful in future.

He said they were lucky to have a dedicated staff, board and parents who were always willing and visional to ensure they have a conducive environment for learning.

On the other hand he lauded the project saying being in one of the top schools in Bungoma County it will go a long way to help children from within the County compete favorably academically with students from other counties hence strengthen the education sector.

The school’s Principal Patrick Wandili thanked all who contributed towards the success of the project saying it took four years of patience and hard work to complete the magnificent building saying it is a relieve to the students who were previously congested in other dormitories.

“It holds a capacity of 640 students which is about half the population of the whole school and cost a sum of more than Sh 30 million contributed partly by parents, CDF kitty, sponsors and the entire community of Kimilili,” said Wandili.

However, he challenged the students to leave a legacy by posting good grades in the national examinations to reciprocate on the facilities and efforts of their parents and guardians.

In his sentiments father Julius Oyoo from the Kibabii Catholic Parish challenged the students to set their own pace and focus on improving their own academic standards instead of focusing so much on overshadowing other schools that may be ahead of the academically.
