Jubilee Party has received a major boost after Likuyani Sub County Ford Kenya (FK) Chairman, Timothy Mulanda Songa threw his weight behind President Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election. Mulanda who is the immediate former Sango ward Member of County assembly (MCA) made public the decision to decamp to Jubilee Party in a ceremony held at Soy Highway Motel.
He expressed disappointment over what he termed as self-styled leadership in National
Super Alliance (NASA), thus the decision to switch party allegiance. “I am dissatisfied with NASA’s campaign strategy ahead of the fresh presidential election,” added Mulanda.
According to Mulanda, NASA leaders, Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka, have sensed defeat, hence their constant interference with the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) by consistently raising unnecessary and unending demands.
“NASA leaders are unable to move from Nairobi to the grassroots and hunt for votes, thus they have now resorted to finding flimsy excuses in the electoral agency,” claimed Mulanda.
Mulanda who is also the Kakamega branch Ford Kenya deputy chairman urged the electorate in Western region to overwhelmingly vote for Uhuru and his Deputy President, William Ruto.
The firebrand local politician described Raila Odinga as a selfish politician who had little interest for the populous Luhya community as well as other tribes affiliated with NASA movement. He vowed to deliver over 90 percent of votes in Likuyani Sub County for the president and Jubilee Party.
His sentiments were echoed by Mr. Andrew Mutonyi who said the NASA coalition had no development agenda for Kenyans. Mutonyi, who vied for Sango ward MCA seat on a Mashinani ticket, also decamped to Jubilee.
Jubilee Party’s Kakamega County Coordinator, Mr. Tony Nabwera received Mulanda and his team. Nabwera dismissed as misguided notion that the former Western province was a NASA stronghold. “Jubilee Party is going to deconstruct this propaganda in the forthcoming presidential repeat polls,” promised Nabwera.
