The KCPE exams kicked off smoothly in Nandi as Lands CS Farida Karoney witnessed the opening of exam containers in Chesumei Sub County at 6:00 am before visiting several schools including Kapsisiywo primary school.
Speaking during her visit to Kapsisiywo primary school in Chesumei constituency, the Cabinet Secretary noted the exercise has started well and it’ll be handled with integrity countrywide. She said they don’t expect any cases of cheating and sufficient monitoring will be done according to KNEC regulations, “We’ll ensure there are no cases of cheating.”
Moroever, one candidte from Kapkibimbir primary school in Chesumei constituency is doing her exams on the back of joyous news after she gave birth to a baby boy days before the exam commencement. The Nandi Education Ministry said they resolved with the school headteacher to allow her to do her exams in the school while her mother takes care of the baby at a nearby dispensary, and she’ll be allowed to see them during the exam break period.
A total of 26,332 candidates are doing their exams in Nandi County, 13,192 girls and 13,140 boys.
