Former Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero has faulted EACC after the anti-graft body detectives raided his Muthaiga home early on Thursday. Kidero said they had search warrants and his Muthaiga home search he accompanied the EACc officers to his Westlands office.
Afterwards, the former Governor said this comes barely a month after he was arrested and arraigned in Court, insisting that they had no evidence against him. “It would appear to me that they are looking for evidence because they never had evidence to arrest me in the first place. This is pure harassment and a violation of my rights,” he said.
He said the EACC raid isn’t related to a new case and that sufficient evidence should’ve been collected earlier before his August arrest. Kidero and the former acting head of treasury Maurice Okere were granted a cash bail of Kshs 2 million each by a Nairobi court after they were arrested and charged in a graft case involving Lodwar Wholesalers.
