There are no survivors in the FlySax plane wreckage, according to Transport PS Paul Maringa, who confirmed that after locating the wreckage early Thursday morning, search and rescue teams reached the site. “Families of the passengers and the crew have been notified,” said Maringa, “As a Ministry, we regret this outcome and send heartfelt condolences to the families.”
He said investigations have commenced and will proceed n earnest, afterwards, the results will be made known. Earlier, the Trasport PS had indicated that the plane had suffered reasonable damage and refused to affirm any casualties at the time.
The Cessna plane registration number 5Y-CAC plane was heading to Nairobi from Kitale when it lost contact with the control centre on Tuesday evening. Search efforts followed, throughout Wednesday, although the bad weather proved to be a problem, as family members gathered at Weston Hotel.
