Western Kenya CDD & Flood Mitigation job opportunities for Western Kenya residents

The government says it intends to create over 1000 jobs over for the next ten years with a “poverty reduction project”.

The World Bank and government funded project implemented through the ministry of State for Special Programmes in the office of the President, is aimed to empower local communities in engaging in sustainable wealth creating livelihood activities, lower the incidence of poverty and reduce the vulnerability of the poor to adverse outcomes associated with floods.

According to an advertisement placed in the Kenyan dailies, the Western Kenya community Driven Development and Flood Mitigation Project (WKCDD&FMP) is the sole client of the funders.

PROJECT INFORMATION DOCUMENT (PID) APPRAISAL STAGE  

Core areas of the project are in five counties of Western Province: Bungoma, Busia, Kakamega and Vihiga and Siaya in Nyanza Province with offices in to perform the coordinating units in Busia, Bungoma, Kakamega, Teso, Siaya, Bondo, Mt. Elgon, Vihiga, Lugari, Butere/Mumias and Kakamega.

Job opportunities being sought after lie in: Administration, communication, finance, and infrastructure.

A National project coordinator, who will be the team leader of the project coordination unit under the overall direction of the permanent secretary in the ministry of state for special programme in the office of the president while guiding the projects in the aforementioned counties.

County project Coordinators who will be in charge of planning, monitoring and management of projects within the respective county of jurisdiction.

Monitoring and evaluation coordinator who will be reporting to the national project coordinator, and will also be in charge of planning and monitoring and evaluation of activities of the project.

Other positions to be filled by interested and qualified people are: human resource Officer, Community Driven Development Coordinator, Natural Resources and environment Management Officer, Support to local Development coordinator, Sub-County Community Driven  Development Officer, information, education and Communication Officer, Finance Officer, Assistant Finance officer, Sub-County Finance Assistants, Supplies and Procurement Officer, Assistant Supplies and Procurement Officer, Sub-County Supplies and Procurement Assistants.
