Tinderet Member of Parliament Honorable Henry Kosgey has said that the four ICC suspects were innocent and had only been used as sacrificial lambs.

Kosgey who together with Post-master General Hussein Ali has been acquitted of the ICC case over post-election violence that rocked the country in the past, insisted that the four suspects who had not been acquitted had not committed the offences accused of.

He said that the post-election violence had occurred sporadically and none was solely to blame for what happened.

“It is wrong for particular persons to be blamed for what happened since they were not in control of the entire nation,” he said.

Kosgey said that the four suspects whose cases were confirmed were accused and yet they did not organize the violence as it was claimed.

He repeatedly said that they were innocent and called on Kenyans to pray for them so that they too would be acquitted off the charges as he thanked them for their prayers for him.

Kosgey said that the moral of forgiveness was killed in Kenya when some individuals were subjected to unworthy accusation.

He however, advised the people to remain calm since the four were still innocent until proven guilty.

At the same time the MP advised his constituents to avoid relying on politicians to pay for them school fees and instead use the available resources to meet their ends.

He said that the region was endowed with resources that if maximally tapped would enable parents to send their children to schools besides improving their economy.

Kosgey was speaking during a thanksgiving mass held in St. Mary’s Tachasis Catholic Parish in Tachasis location, Tindiret district on Sunday where he was accompanied by Nandi East, Tindiret and Mwea District Commissioners Irene Ondeng, Jacob Namulen and Peter Lelei respectively.

Lelei who spoke during the mass called on the residents to stop making calls to radio stations and making provocative comments and instead advised them to visit offices that can address issues they are facing.
