Kakamega High School, Named 2012 KSSA National Schools Sevens Winners.

Kakamega beat St. Peter's Mumias 33-8 in the cup final player at the Maseno School at a match that began with both sides warily approaching the game but Kakamega broke the deadlock when Mike Mulugu touched down with Harrison Asena converting for a 7-0 lead.

Dan Abuyeka cut the shortfall when he kicked over a drop goal, making it 7-3.

Mumias, dominated possession and got some points when Reinhardt Ashioya ground to give them an 8-7 lead but Loris Fami's try on the rap of half time that saw Kakamega go 12-8 with Asena converting for a 14-8 half time lead.

In the Second half half Kakamegas’ Mulugu landed his strut with Asena converting for a 21- 8 lead before Bush Ambale landed to make it 26-8.

Asena scored and converted his own try to give Kakamega the 33-8 therefore scooping KSSSA National Schools Sevens champions

According to Kakamega coach Martin Tuvalu, “My team's fortitude, restraint and effort helped carry the day. I pay tribute to St. Peters for putting up a spirited fight. I am now preparing my side for the fifteens national title defence, the Dubai Schools Sevens as well."

The Final Results in shield Sameta 33 Malindi 14, in Bowl Mang’u 5 Alliance 0, in plate Nakuru 7 Upper Hill 5 and Main Cup Kakamega 33 St. Peter's Mumias 8.
