Tusker FC broke AFC Leopards’ unbeaten record after defeating them 2-0 in the Kenyan Premier League match at Mbaraki Sports Club, Mombasa.
Even after being defeated Leopards are still on top with 26 points, but Sofapaka may reduce the gap to three points should they win today’s match against Thika United in Thika.
Ingwe’s goalkeeper Patrick Matasi worked overtime to contain the striking efforts of Tuskers striking force lead by Paul Were and Joseph Emeka.
Brian Mandela connected a short from Peter Opiyo which was deflected by AFC leopards Jonas Nahimana to make the first goal in the 57th minute.
Tusker put the icing on the cake with the second goal, courtesy of Ochieng’ Luke, whose throw-in was pushed into the net by keeper Matasi.
In the last season Tusker defeated AFC Leopards 2-0 and 2-1 in both legs.
