Thousands of residents from  Bungoma, Kakamega and Vihiga counties were Wednesday treated to fan when Nzoia  Sugar Company took to the market to promote and create awareness about its new look.

The caravan’s main agenda was to market the company’s new look commenced at the sugar company where the renowned Western Music Icon Webuye Jua kali entertained the crowd.

The powerful road show later moved to Bukembe and Webuye in Bungoma County before heading to Malava, Kakamega, Chavakali and later Mbale.

During the road show, West fm presenters Moses makeni alias Fulugenge and Sally Kwendo aka Sally K thrilled the gatherings with their jokes coupled with intervals of dance and music.

Nzoia Sugar Company which is ISO certified and with a diamond mark of quality from the Kenya Bureau of Standards has been manufacturing brown sugar which continues to sweeten Kenya since 1978.

Addressing the enthusiastic crowds, the company’s marketing Officers Emmanuel Mbaisi and Lucy Machasio urged residents to consume sugar from Nzoia as it is brown and recommended by health experts.

Justus Amugune from Kakamega, was excited to buy one bale of sugar thus, winning for himself a branded umbrella from Nzoia Sugar Company. Asked if he was a trader, he said, “I am not a trader, my family and I just simply love consuming this sugar, its sweet and without additives and you don’t need to add a lot to make your cup of tea tasty…. So when the opportunity presented itself, I had to act.”

Other residents and traders from all the places toured got an opportunity to buy sugar and win prizes.

At Malava, James Wafula a boda boda rider was full of joy and thanked Nzoia Company for introducing packages as low as a quarter kilo gram. He said this will go a long way in improving livelihoods of the peasants who cannot afford sugar in high quantities and who have long suffered in the hands of unscrupulous traders with faulty weighing scales. “Now when I buy this I’m sure of the value for money without being cheated of quantity,” he added.

Next week Nzoia Sugar Company in partnership with West fm will tour Bungoma, Kanduyi, Chwele, Kimilili, Kamukuywa, Kiminini and Kitale where Nzoia sugar consumers and traders will get an opportunity to buy and win.
