NARC-KENYA leader Martha Karua has announced that she will reject any salary advanced to her as an Mp after December 30th this year.

Karua said it would be an illegality for any Member of Parliament to receive a salary after that date because the term of the current parliament would have expired.

Addressing party delegates at the Webuye Municipal hall, Karua who was accompanied by East African Legislative Assembly Member of Parliament Augustine Lotodo warned that the coalition government would be committing a serious illegality by extending its term to the sixth year instead of the traditional five.

“If they extend their term by force in December, I will even not accept their salary! Kenyans have spoken openly that they are used to electing their leaders after five years. Why are people bend on changing this scenario?” questioned Karua.

The Gichugu Mp urged Kenyans to increase calls for an election this year adding that though she respects the sanctity of the courts, any ruling taking the exercise away from this year would be a bad idea.

Karua further warned those dismissing her presidential bid to brace for a tough contest adding that she has a grassroots network that will shake other contestants for the top seat.

“They boast of having big political parties but majority of them had it really rough conforming to the new political parties’ law. Our party beat them by being the first one to be issued with a compliance certificate!” boasted the Narc-Kenya leader.

She announced plans to open more party offices to cover all the 47 Counties saying that the party currently has full-fledged offices in 35 counties.
