Death oh death where is thy sting? Where is thy victory? These are the questions many have asked but no one has ever given the appropriate answer. Maybe God will.

These are the same questions on the lips of teachers and pupils of Mumias Complex Primary School. The heads of teachers and staff of Kakamega Teachers Cooperative Society, and to all those who knew Joseph Sagala.

Mr. Sagala before his death was the head teacher of Mumias Complex Primary School, The Chairman of the giant Kakamega Cooperative Society and vice chairman of KUSCO. He is alleged to have died minutes after getting to St Marys hospital.

The deceased is said to have been suffering from high blood pressure and minutes after reporting to school, he complained of fatigue and decided to drive himself to St Marys Hospital. Just after handing out his hospital booklet, he collapsed and without a word he breathed his last.

His leadership qualities have no equal. His staff who up to now have not come to terms with his death describe him as a team leader, a man who in him were the power to move masses. He was a leader who knew and understood the true meaning of leadership.

Mumias Complex is one of the leading schools in Mumias District and in Kakamega County. The Pupils do not mince words as they call him daddy. That describes all.

The general Secretary of Kenya National Union of Teachers Mumias branch Mr John Wesonga described him as a peace maker and a calm leader. Wesonga said teachers have lost a great leader who helped champion for their rights. He added that the deceased had managed the giant Cooperative in Kenya with great sobriety and fairness.

As the chairman of the sacco, the late had managed the society effectively and contributed to the financial improvement of the sacco. The staff at Fosa (Front Office Services) have been hit with this blow as well.

His body is lying at the St. Marys' Mission Hospital Mortuary as burial arrangements proceed.
