Muhoroni youth  FC have finally  landed  the  AFC Leopards roving striker Francis Chinjili after the club declined to re-new his contract.

Muhoroni Head Coach Alfred Imonje pointed out that he knew Chinjili very well and expressed confidence that the burly striker would impress since he had the experience and passion for the game.

Chinjili joined “Ingwe” from the Kakamega based Western Stima FC where he was one of the top scorers in the Tactician Henry Omino's team which has remained consistent in the Kenyan Premier League (KPL).

Imonje however, did not reveal the details of Chinjili's contract with the club noting that it is only the management who can commend on monetary matters.

“My duty is to recommend to the management of the club on acquisition of players. After that it is the player who would talk with the management about the contract,” he said adding that he hopes the team would do well in the second leg of the premier league.

The tactician, who is also the Head Coach of the Somalia national team thus The Oceanic, said the acquisition of Chinjili is meant to shape up the striking force of the team which had proved wanting in the first leg of the top league.

Imonje also revealed that the club had lost the services of his leading scorer Geoffrey Simiyu, who joined the 2008 champions and neighbors Sony FC, which is struggling to find a footing in the competitive league.

The coach further disclosed that three players from the team had been axed after they failed to deliver in their respective positions in the team adding that he would not sign other players since those who left were not key players in the team.

He regretted that the 23 year old Simiyu had bagged 8 goals for the team in the first leg of the league noting that Sony FC would benefit a lot from his scoring exploits to push the team ahead and confine it in the respectable position.

On the other hand AFC Leopards, who are 12 times national champions, have signed international mid fielder Paul Were from defending reigning champions Tusker FC.

 Were, who recently featured for the National team Harambee stars clash with Malawi as mid fielder, replaces Tanzanian  based  AFC Leopards’ Salim Kinje who joined Tanzania's national league champions Simba Sports club.

 Were joins Burundian Flombert Ntianyasha and Tanzanian international Idrissa Rajab whom AFC have leopards singed.

AFC Loapards have also released Joseph Okumu who joins Oserian FC. Okumu is part of the National junior team which recently participated in the South African international tourney.
