Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo says he fears for his life over his recent revelation that the government is financing some political parties to divide major ethnic groups into cocoons to manipulate the presidential race.

Jirongo who is a presidential hopeful under the United Republican Party (URP) alleged that he was warned against poking his fingers into important “eyes” but instead vowed to unravel the scheme meant to manipulate the coming General Election.

“And this words am saying should not be taken lightly because may be you will come for my funeral. This people have planned themselves to take the leadership of this country,” said Jirongo.

Speaking at the Busia polytechnic during a harambee drive for the boda boda operators, Jirongo urged Kenyans to shun leaders who he alleged are ‘projects’ of some influential State House operatives.

He said that Ruto’s URP and Mudavadi’s United Democratic Forum Party were among the political parties the state operatives were sponsoring to split the main communities in a bid to remain in power.

“You have heard that I have problems with Ruto in the URP party and it is because from his movements he is not after presidency but a project that is out to be used in sub- dividing people,” said the Lugari legislator.

“We must stand with leaders who will be a project for Kenyans and not State House,” he said, warning that money has remained the strongest weapon by some elites who intend to manipulate the election and also halt the devolution process a move he said should be rejected.

Accompanied by Nominated MP Musikari Kombo, Naivasha MP John Mututho, Brian Weke and former Budalang’i MP Raphael Wanjala, the Lugari MP indicated that he will quit URP and announce his new political vehicle in the next two weeks.
