A man has been killed by relatives after a dispute over a piece of land at Milimani village in Sinoko location, Likuyani District of Kakamega County.

Confirming the incident, Lugari deputy police boss Mr. Gregory Mutiso said that before meeting his death, the deceased identified as Mr. Evans Kisa Kigame aged 27 is alleged to have picked a quarrel and threatened to slash into pieces his aging grandfather Mr. Japheth Kigame Mmbale of 76 years over their family land.

However, the deceased was overpowered by his two grandmothers who came to their husbands’ rescue. They snatched him the panga he was brandishing in air and then descended on his head with crude clubs injuring him severely.

According to Mutiso, the man died on the spot and his body was later on taken to Kitale District Hospital mortuary.

The deputy police boss added that the police department had launched investigation into the matter, with two people already having been arrested and being held at Matunda police station for interrogation.
