MALABA Police are holding two suspects in connection with Friday night’s theft where a unit vehicle was stolen under a strange circumstance.

It alleged that the vehicle Toyota RAV4 destined to Kampala was packed at one of the guesthouses before it was stolen.

Confirming the incident, Teso Police Boss Elphas Korir said that two people went to the guesthouse   posing to be customers and later fled with the vehicle using a master key.

He said that two suspects are being held at the Malaba Police Station to assist the police with investigations.

“The police have arrested two suspects in connection with the incident, but we are still chasing all possible leads to have the culprits put behind bars, ’’ explained Korir.

Following the incident, the OCPD has issued stern warning to any unit’s driver who will be found packing in Malaba saying that such vehicles are not supposed to be packed   at the yard or any other place vowing to take severe action.

He urged KRA to speed up with clearance of unit vehicles to help reduce congestion.
