Police arrest two for paralyzing activities at the Malaba border

Police in Malaba have apprehended two suspects in line with the Monday incident where a long distance truck driver blocked the Northern corridor to protest the arrest of his turn man.

 Activities were paralyzed for three hours with the driver vanishing for exile immediately the General Service Unit arrived, dispersed the rowdy mob of drivers and clearing argents  and took control of the border town in a bid to calm situations after the OCPD’S efforts to contain the situation was  rendered futile.

Teso OCPD Elphas Korir revealed that the co-driver was intercepted   to produce a passport but declined prompting the officer to arrest him however; the hiding driver claimed that the Criminal investigation Officer s manhandled his colleague even after producing the needed passport forcing him to block the highway.

 Mr.Korir has confirmed that two suspects including the co-driver and clearing urgent have been arrested and will appear today before the court and charged with obstruction of the high way and incitement.
