A road construction labourer killed while on duty along Eldoret - Webuye highway

A ROAD construction company labourer was killed on the spot after he was knocked down by the company’s lorry at Musembe area in Lugari district.

The deceased Samuel Odhiambo was a road survey manager at the Maltauro road construction Company which has been awarded a contract by the government to rehabilitate the Eldoret- Webuye highway.

Confirming the accident, Lugari district police boss John Leshimpiro said Odhiambo was killed as the vehicle’s driver Philip Cheruyot was reversing while on duty along the road.

The tragedy occurred when the deceased was conversing over the phone. The body was taken to the Moi Teaching and Referral hospital mortuary in Eldoret for postmortem.
