Unruly crowds went berserk on a Malaba police station on Wednesday demanding the OCPD to grant them permission to see four suspects who had been arrested in connection with the death of a truck driver.

The rowdy mob pleaded with Teso Police Boss Elphas   Korir to allow them see and teach the four suspects’ a lesson for killing a truck driver and injured two people Tuesday night.

The crowd which comprised mostly women with children arrived at the police station when the OCPD was preparing to take the four suspects to their respective homes for a search of the AK 47 riffle that has been used to terrorizing the Malaba residents.

Mr. Korir had a rough time calming down the mob, asking them to exercise patience as the four suspects assist the police with investigations in a bid to curb rampant theft cases at the border. He managed to calm them down and promised them that he will never relent till the suspects are brought to book and charged with murder and theft.

Cyrus Lewa, 43, a truck driver was shot dead and the two injured by an unknown gang while trying to rescue a pastor’s wife and her assistant.

Korir confirmed that the robbers had attacked and injured a civic leader before robbing him off his personal effects before attacking the truck driver making away with Ksh 13,000 the previous day.

Following the incident, Police had arrested four suspects in connection with the incident and are calling upon the public to report any person with suspicious character in a bid to curb the increased spates of theft at the border.
