Mourners in Koteko Village of Teso North District were treated to a rare drama when the deceased allegedly opened his mouth and eyes immediately the woman believed to have bewitched him arrived to view the body.

The 60 years old suspect is claimed to have bewitched the deceased Gordon Karani Odeke by sending him lightning that struck him dead over the weekend during a heavy downpour.

Confirming the incident, area Assistant Chief Andrew Idewa revealed that mourners and residents were shocked when the dead man opened his eyes and mouth when the accused person a barren woman entered the house to view the body.

The administrator said that he had a rough time containing the rowdy mourners who were baying for her blood and managed later to rescue her advising her to go for exile.

He however dismissed the allegation that the man was bewitched by the old woman terming his death as a natural one having been hit by lightning.

The marred burial resumed late evening where the man was buried while stunned mourners kept searching for the supposed witch.
