A 15 yrs old boy dies after being electrocuted

The Mumias Police confirmed the death of a 15 year old boy who died Thursday evening after being electrocuted in Nasikalawa estate of Malaha Market in Khaunga sub location, Shianda Location, East Wanga Division of Mumias District.

Kelly brown as he was identified, a class four pupil at Muroni primary school had been left alone by the mother, Christabel Anyango to prepare tea using a heater, but power shortage occurred making him to forget unplugging it from the power socket.

When the power came back he went to touch the heater but he was electrocuted in the process according to his father Francis Wawire.

The Mumias OCPD George Seda urged parents not to leave electronic gadgets with their children as this may be hazardous. He also urged them to remove electronic appliances from power sockets especially now that the supply of power is not reliable.

The body was taken to St Marys Mumias Hospital mortuary for postmortem.
