More than 300 youth   from Amagoro Constituency were Wednesday evening sent home for failure to meet the requirements needed in the Army recruitment.

According to Lieutenant Colonel   Isaiya Kangor the senior recruiting officer, most youth possessed certificates from foreign countries notably Uganda and no Original Identifications Cards.

Kangor revealed that it was hard to equate certificates from Uganda adding that the task falls under the Ministry of Education. He added that many youth did not meet the required mean grade D as most of them had degrees from Uganda.

“We are not allowed to recruit people with foreign certificates and no original Kenyan Identification cards. Most of the youth here have degrees from foreign countries but have no the required D grade,” explained Kangor.

The Lt Cl said that physical problems  is among the major challenge deterring the recruitment adding  that the so far  covered  places of  Butula, Funyula, Budalangi, Nambale, Mumias , Matungu and Amagoro have cases of physical problems.

The physical problem has made six youth from the covered places to collapse during a running exercised.

More than 1000 youth in Teso North District turned up for the exercise but only 10 managed to secure chances ether in the Navy ,Army and Kenya Air force.

Mr Kangor expressed concern over the less number needed in the Security department  calling upon the government to increase the number  of recruits to help fight unemployment  problem looming in the country saying  many youth are intellectuals and the government is doing very little to help them.
