HUNDREDS of Mwamba residents in Lugari District staged a peaceful demonstration to Maltauro Road Construction Company offices demanding compensation for the destruction committed by the company while rehabilitating the Webuye- Eldoret Road.

Carrying placards and accompanied by pupils of Mwamba primary school also affected by the effects of the company demanded that the company gives a way forward to the compensation claims.

They claimed that their houses were now gapping following blasting done by the company adding that their toilets had also collapsed.

Most of them claimed that the company had not been listed among the group to be compensated arguing that they have heavily been affected by its activities.

They accused the company’s assessors of ignoring their input ending up undervaluing the effects.

However, they could not access the company site manager Eugene Einervian forcing the Lugari DO Lawrence Ngare to intervene arguing that he will present the residents demands.
