Nominated MP Godfrey Osotsi has asked opposition leaders Musalia Mudavadi, Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula to take up the opposition role left by Raila Odinga instead of lamenting over the Uhuru-Raila handshake.
He said Mudavadi was in a better position to revitalize his political career by filling the gap left in the opposition after the handshake.
“Opposition leaders should stop accusing Raila of betraying them by agreeing to work with the President. Let them fill the vacuum he has left in opposition,” said Osotsi
Speaking in Ibubi, Emuhaya Sub County, in Vihiga County, Osotsi said opposition leaders were making Kenyans believe that Raila Odinga was the only fierce opposition leader.
“Mudavadi should take advantage of the political retreat by Raila to take over opposition mantle from him and package himself as a credible presidential candidate in 2022 general elections because he still enjoys the goodwill of Majority of Kenyans,” he added.
He added that they will support the building bridges initiative by President Uhuru and Raila because that was the only way of uniting Kenyans now divided on tribal lines.
Osotsi called for unity of Luhya politicians and push for a development agenda for the electorate and not personal interests.
