The County government of Nandi under the leadership of Governor Stephen Sang has received medical drugs worth Kshs 60 million from Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA).
While addressing the press at the County offices after receiving and flagging off the drugs to various main hospitals across Nandi, Governor Sang said that the move will enable residents to get better and quality health care services.
He revealed that the first batch will be supplied to Referral, County and Sub County hospitals across Nandi.
The remaining consignment of over Kshs 60 Million will be received on Monday next week and will be supplied and dispersed to other health care centers and dispensaries across Nandi.
He said that for the past seven months, during the leadership of former Governor Cleophas Lagat, hospitals and dispensaries were hit by a shortage of drugs.
The Governor made it clear that he has put in place a better system of drugs management and they’ve come up with a way of ensuring doctors and nurses get their promotions.
He warned nurses and doctors not to be negligent and mistreat patients, saying they should treat patients with the required dignity.
