The County government of Nandi has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Export Processing Zones Authority (EPZA). This comes a day after consultations between the residents and County government leaders and the leaders converged at Chemase to map a way forward concerning the establishment of an Export Processing Zones Authority. The establishment will be on a 300-acre piece of land and apart from promoting economic growth, the project will uplift livelihoods of residents by offering employment opportunities especially those living in Chemase area.
Moreover, the project will improve the standards of the infrastructure and the country’s economic growth at large. Nandi Governor Stephen Sang cited that the move is a key project for the residents of Nandi at large and will facilitate export-oriented investment, and he urged them to embrace and utilize it fully.
