Nandi Governor Stephen Sang is expected to address the Nandi County assembly on Tuesday, at 2.00 pm. A letter signed by the County clerk Mr. Barnabas Kosgey read that pursuant to standing order (17)(1) the Governor is expected to give his address to the newly set up County assembly.
While addressing the press, County assembly clerk Kosgey said that the Speaker of the County Assembly, Hon. Joshua Kiptoo, appointed the sitting of the assembly to be on Tuesday 12th September 2017 at the County assembly chambers.
The Governor is expected to outline his agenda for the County few weeks after taking an oath of office. The address also comes days after Governor Sang suspended top County officials in the health and finance departments in a fight against graft.
He also sent packing a total of one thousand casual workers to pave way for a County workers’ audit in a bid to tackle the menace of ghost workers and a skyrocketing wage bill.
