Nandi County Governor Stephen Sang has revealed that the day set apart to mark the commemoration of Koitalel Arap Samoei will also be used to showcase the culture of the Nandi community. Speaking during the 113th commemoration of the late Samoei on Friday, Governor Sang said the commemoration event goes hand in hand with the community’s tradition and it’s appropriate that the Nandi culture is also showcased.
He said the County will also set up a mausoleum in memory of the late Jean Marie Seroney who is also a community hero. Leaders from Rift Valley who attended the ceremony included Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago, Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot, MP Moiben Caleb Kositany among others and they reiterated that all heroes and heroines must be recognized and honored for their struggle in protecting the rights of the people.
