The Nandi county government has unveiled a Ksh. 76 Million fire fighting equipment machines from china.
Nandi governor Dr. Cleophas Lagat commissioned the equipment in Kapsabet where he said that in the past the county government was unable to purchase the machines due to financial difficulties.
The Governor explained that the county is now able to deal and respond to fire outbreak cases whenever reported and asked the public to support the government efforts to contain fire cases that arises.
Lagat who was with his deputy Dominic Biwot and other ministers, dismissed claims that funds sent to the county from the National government has been embezzled assuring the people of Nandi that public funds will be accounted for.
The governor regretted that in the past schools in Nandi had become victims of fire outbreaks promising that the county will higher 25 staffs to deal with cases of fire outbreaks.
He also warned political opponents against engaging in hate speech saying they should be able to sell their policies to electorates without speaking hatred about others.
He said he supports the national cohesion team move to arrest politicians who made utterances which could spark chaos in the country adding that Kenyans are not ready to shed blood like cases of 2007/2008 skirmishes.
On development issues the governor said he knows very well what he pledged for the people of Nandi during his campaigns and he will fulfill his promise before the end of his term.
He cited that water was the major agenda in his manifesto and that by the end of ten years to come he would have achieved that as every homestead will be proud of clean piped water.
