NASA Co-principal and Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has appealed to all aspirants within the coalition to work together to ensure they don’t surrender any seats to Jubilee in Bungoma and Western region as a whole.
Speaking during a NASA rally in Webuye at T-Junction, he said there is no big and small party in the coalition and that all leaders should work as brothers, “I want to appeal to my brothers and sisters who are under NASA to work together if we want to send Jubilee packing. But if we disagree all the time then Jubilee will get an opportunity and scoop seats in this region,” he said.
He said NASA has one mission at the moment and that’s to send the ruling party home, adding that they need to win the majority of the seats, “When we scoop few seats in our administration, it will make it hard for us to deliver the agendas we’ve laid out for Kenyans.”
Furthermore, he criticized the government for lying to Webuye residents that normal service has resumed at Rai Paper Mills, yet nothing is happening at the moment. He also faulted them for failing to fully implement the laptops’ project, “Have you seen the laptops Jubilee promised? Is Rai Paper functioning as promised?” he posed.
He drummed up support for NASA and urged residents to come out in large numbers on August 8th to vote for NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga so that the country can be liberated.
On his part, ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi blamed Jubilee for the skyrocketing cost of living. He said that the poor in the country are getting poorer while the rich are accumulating more riches.
His sentiments were reiterated by Siaya Senator James Orengo who said the time for change has come. He applauded the ruling made by the Appeals Court concerning the announcement of Presidential results at Constituency level, saying that it will minimize the chances of rigging.
The leaders were accompanied by Tongaren MP Dr. Eseli Simiyu, Kiminini MP Dr. Chris Wamalwa and other NASA aspirants from Bungoma County.
