Kakamega governor Wycliffe Oparanya is confident that NASA will scoop the main seat in the upcoming general election. “We know that we are going to win in the next general elections despite reports that have been doing rounds that Jubilee has expansive numbers,” he said.
He disclosed that the newly formed NASA party will announce its flag bearer in March, and urged residents to maintain optimism, given that the opposition leaders have sacrificed a lot to ensure they remain united ahead of the general election.
Speaking to ODM delegates from Trans Nzoia in Kitale, he said the leadership of ODM is ready to support whoever will be chosen as NASA presidential flagbearer, and he urged supporters to engage in peaceful elections.
The governor also said there will be no zoning in the party, whereby strong dominant parties in a given region are allowed to field candidates while other coalition parties don’t, saying it affects democracy.
He was accompanied by Bungoma gubernatorial aspirant Alfred Khang’ati, who criticized the government’s handling of the doctors’ strike.
