Nurses and other health workers in Nandi have today Thursday morning resumed work after their strike was called off yesterday by their Secretary General Seth Panyako.
The Kenya National Union of Nurses(K.N.U.N) called off the strike after fruitful negotiations with the council of governors and Ministry of Health that a recognition agreement was signed.
Nurses in all public dispensaries and Hospitals in Nandi reported to work very early in the morning ready for the task as there were many patients in the queue waiting to be attended to.
Patients who managed to speak to West Fm said they were attended to quickly without delays and applauded the efforts by the government in ensuring health workers return to work immediately.
They urged the government to fulfil the health workers C.B.A signed way back in 2013 to avoid more strikes as the health sector is an essential services ministry that needs more attention.
The health workers strike that lasted for about ten days paralysed health services in public hospitals forcing patients to flee the hospitals seeking services at private hospitals.
