A press conference in Nairobi Railways Club which was called by the Kenya National Union of Nurses Chairman John Bii has been disrupted by other nurses’ officials. The KNUN Chairman was reportedly meant to call off the nationwide nurses’ strike.
Before he addressed the press, a couple of individuals walked into the press room and disowned the KNUN Chairman, leading to a heated confrontation.
During the confrontation, the officials from clearly two opposing camps exchanged sharp words, and security officials had to be alert to calm the situation. “You’ll not bring politics here,” said one of the officials who had accompanied John Bii, “We know you’ve been paid by politicians, we know!”
He further revealed that officials who have supported the strike are benefitting from a corrupt deal.
