The suspects involved in the much-publicized NYS scam have been released on bail. The suspects have been freed by the High Court on Kshs 5 million bond each, Kshs 1 million cash bail and Kshs 2 million surety.
Judge Hedwig Ong’udi noted that he is aware of the seriousness of the charges faced and ordered the suspects to surrender their passports. They were also barred from accessing their offices without police officers, and are required to report to the DCI office once a week pending trial. The suspects were also directed not to contact any of the witnesses lined up by the prosecution.
The suspects who were remanded include Public Service Principal Secretary Lilian Omollo, National Youth Service Director General Richard Ndubai, the Ngirita family members among others.
