Fear has enveloped Bendera and Mlimani villages in Lumakanda location, Lugari Sub County after a 10ft long snake allegedly used in witchcraft was found in the area. The snake turned against a pastor who was on a mission to deal with any traces witchcraft in the area and bit him several times before residents killed it.

After witnessing extraordinary incidences including sudden and shocking deaths of their beloved ones, residents led by Mr. Dedan Chitwa decided to seek the services of a Webuye based pastor Wycliffe Wafula who they knew had the power to flash out any witchcraft vices.

According to Chitwa who alleged to have been beleaguered by unending tragedies in his family, initially, the pastor visited his home early last month and exhumed scary witchcraft paraphernalia that had been buried inside his house.

He added that since it was late in the evening, the pastor claimed the area was dominated by black magic and that there were more things that he needed to unearth and expose to the locals to relieve them from and was to come back the next day.

However, while on his way coming back as he had promised, the pastor was involved in a road accident and sustained minor injuries but promised to accomplish his mission after recovery.

After getting out of the hospital the pastor returned to the village last weekend where he traced and found the 10ft serpent hidden in a thicket at the bank of Bendera stream.

However, the rattled snake turned against the pastor as he tried to remove it from its nest and bit him twice on his right hand. Shockingly, an assortment of items which included human hair, bras, both male and female underwears among other things were found on the
nest.

The incident attracted hundreds of residents who thronged the scene to catch a glimpse of the shocking episode with some identifying their pants and bras which they claimed disappeared from their bathroom lines.

Few residents summoned courage and managed to corner the snake and killed it as the pastor was rescued and rushed to Lumakanda Sub County hospital before being transferred to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret.

The snake whose the owner is yet to be identified was removed from the scene by officers from the Lumakanda police station who took it to an undisclosed place and burnt it.

The pastor who is still in hospital has disclosed that there is a bigger snake in the same area and has promised to deal with it once he gets out of the hospital. The incident has been strongly condemned by locals with some narrating the tormenting life they have been going through due to witchcraft and believe the pastor will save them further suffering.
