President Uhuru Kenyatta has faulted leaders who are still held up in political issues, saying Kenyans can’t wake up everyday to political noises. Speaking during a clean up exercise in Nairobi, President Kenyatta said 2022 politics shouldn’t be the focus at the moment, “We know every five years we have elections. Let’s wait for the five years before we start politicking,” he said.
He said that if the leaders fail in their mandate and persist in the political tone, Kenyans will keep on suffering, “Political tension is unnecessary,” he affirmed. The head of state also called for a reduction of flour prices, saying trickery among the sellers won’t be allowed, “We know the know the price of maize has gone down, and so the price of flour should also be reduced,” he said. He revealed that those who are still exploiting Kenyans will face stern action and the exploitation won’t be allowed in the country.
He further urged leaders to unite and serve Kenyans who expect service delivery from the different leaders they elected, and called for unity among all citizens, “This country belongs to all of us, if we destroy it, we won’t have anywhere else to go,” he said.
