President Uhuru Kenyatta has been asked by the ODM party Secretary General Ababu Namwamba to make his stand over the tribal clashes in Burundi known.
The legislator said that Kenya needed to make its position on the clashes that had already killed over 100 people and many others displaced in the last two weeks.
According to Mr. Namwamba the continued silence by the president is causing a concern among Kenyans across the Country.
He said Kenya was the strength of politics in the East African region and noted that silence by the Head of State was an undermine.
“The President must tell Kenyans his position over this issue and it must be done quickly.” Said Namwamba.
The warring tribes in the neighbouring Burundi have led to bloodshed eight months after an attempted coup on the leadership of President Pierre Nkurunzinza was foiled in May this year.
Mr. Namwamba spoke in Hamisi Sub County when he attended the burial of Christopher Mmaisti who was a renowned lawyer.
