Trans Nzoia Governor Patrick Khaemba has urged all elected leaders in the County to work in solidarity with his government to set up and finish development projects. The Governor has pledged to work with all the elected leaders irrespective of their party affiliations, adding that there needs to be a cooperation between the assembly and his administration to achieve development targets.
While addressing Members of County Assembly at the assembly building, the County chief promised to complete the projects initiated during his first term in office, including the completion of the construction of a referral hospital and a modern market.
However, the Trans Nzoia Governor pointed out that there was an unclear path during his first term when it came to working with other leaders to bring development to the County, “Principally, we failed to support each other to realize fast development for the residents, mainly because we chose to give preeminence to our narrow political interests,” he said.
On his part, the Trans Nzoia County assembly Speaker Joshua Werunga pledged his support for the Governor and said that the assembly is ready to work in cooperation with the County administration to improve the state of the County and residents. He supported Khaemba’s sentiments that some projects stalled during the Governor’s first term because his team couldn’t work in solidarity with the assembly, adding that the Governor should select a working team that looks to steer the County forward.
