Trans Nzoia woman representative Janet Nangabo has urged Trans Nzoia residents to turn up in large numbers on 26th October to vote, reiterating that there will be sufficient security. Speaking during a campaign trail for President Uhuru Kenyatta in Endebess constituency, she assured residents that they shouldn’t worry since security will be beefed up.
She criticized leaders she alleged were brewing tribalism and divisions amongst County residents, and urged them to avoid being divided by leaders who are out to create rifts, “We won’t let the residents be divided along tribal and political lines,” said Nangabo.
She appealed to leaders within the County to preach peace, saying the manner some leaders are propagating hate among Kenyans is uncalled for.
She said residents have lived in harmony for long and have helped each other extensively, but are now being used to cause chaos and demonstrations, “If they come to you and urge you to demonstrate, then tell them to line up their children forward in line before you take part in the demos,” she said.
She urged Trans Nzoia residents to ignore the sentiments form opposition leaders who have said there won’t be fresh polls, saying no one has the right to tell residents to boycott elections given that it’s their democratic right as Kenyans.
