There was shock at Vihiga County Assembly on Wednesday after Vihiga ODM chairman Zebedee Osabwa moved to court to stop swearing in of two ODM nominated MCAs.
Osabwa shocked Vihiga assembly house during the swearing in ceremony when he stormed in the assembly armed with a court order blocking the duo, Lucy Kemunto Gichana, and Maureen Amunga, from being sworn.
He served the Assembly Clerk Ambaka Kilinga with the Court order moments before the two MCAs were ready to take office oath administered by Justice Hellen Omondi.
The clerk was forced to bar Kemunto and Amunga from taking the oath saying they must settle with their party first.
Osabwa went to court to dispute the nomination of the duo saying they were illegally nominated by the party.
He said Kemunto was a married lady in Kakamega who is not a resident and a voter of Vihiga County.
The information tabled by the ODM chairman showed that Kemunto was from Kakamega County, Lurambi constituency, Mayakalo ward and a registered voter at Mwiyala primary school polling station number 079.
Amunga also her nomination was disputed after he was nominated to replace her sister Pamela Amunga who served as nominated MCA in the last Vihiga County assembly.
