Vihiga High school community is in shock after its 2015 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams cancelled over irregularities.
According to the principal Ezekiel Ayego, Chemistry results for all students had a score of Y while a few got Y in the Biology paper.
“It means that the students might have colluded or involved themselves in examination malpractices at the time,” said Ayego.
The principal said in other subjects the 184 students performed well apart from the affected two papers.
“We did our best and cannot figure out what went wrong. The school was very strict and ensured all students were frisked before being allowed in the exam room,” said surprised Ayego.
He added that they are still waiting for detailed report from the examination body why they cancelled the exams.
“It is very sad and unfortunate. Let us not speculate but wait for the full report from the exam body,” said Ayego.
He said the teachers prepared the students well and wondered what happened in between to warrant the cancellation of exams.
Ayego said he will meet all the teachers and board of management to look into the matter and come up with a way forward.
“We will sit down with our teachers and management board after we have analyzed the report from the exam body, “said Ayego.
He was speaking at the school in Vihiga sub County.
