The County Government of Vihiga has plans to collect more than Ksh 220 Million per year. According to Mr. Richard Rapando, the County Revenue Officer, the County government has been collecting a minimum of Kshs 5 Million per month, the amount he said is far below their target of Kshs 18 Million.
He noted that the County Government through its revenue department has put in place measures to increase the revenue collection in all 5 Sub Counties in the area.
Rapando said there is a slight improvement in the Revenue collection in the said Sub Counties which are Emuhaya, Luanda, Sabatia, Hamisi, and Vihiga adding that the officers involved in the exercise are working closely with the Sub County administrators to meet the target.
“The officers are well equipped and based at the Sub County level where they will work together with the Sub County administrators to make sure we achieve our target of a collection of more than Ksh 18 million per month,” said Rapando.
He urged the locals to cooperate with the officers in realizing the revenue collection of Kshs 220 million annually. “We are encouraging residents to be corporative and work closely with the officers to realize our target,” Rapando said.
