Leaders from Bungoma County have expressed their divergent views on the intended plot to oust Moses Wetangula as the Senate Minority Leader saying it is high time the people Western Kenya re-plan their political ideologies.
Kimilili MP Didmus Wekesa Baraza said Raila Odinga previosuly worked together with other party leaders of Ford Kenya, Wiper and ANC, and he shouldn’t demean them after meeting President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Speaking at Matisi primary school in his constituency where he launched construction of seven classrooms, the MP said it is unfortunate that a plot has been hatched to kick out the Senator, saying he played a key role in the NASA coalition and despite the fact that they lost to Jubilee in the Presidential race, he should be respected.
Elsewhere at Kabula High School in Bumula constituency during the launch of the school’s strategic plan, area MP Mwambu Mabonga applauded the Solomonic decision of the Senate speaker Kenneth Lusaka, saying he was wise to halt Wetangula’s ouster.
He said lessons should be drawn for Luhyas from what is currently unfolding in the NASA coalition, adding that what the Bungoma Senator is going through should be a clarion call for leaders from Western Kenya to work together as the Mulembe nation.
He disclosed that time has come for the leaders from the Western region to consider forming one political party that will accommodate all of them and help spearhead the interest of the people at large from the region.
His sentiments were echoed by Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka who called upon leaders from the Western region to overcome their egoistic ambitions and consider working together for the benefit of the people at the grass root level.
He further said that it is evident that God wants leaders from Western Kenya to unite saying as a speaker, his office is polar to that of the minority leader Moses Wetangula and they have to meet in the Senate thrice per week.
“Eugene Wamalwa is the Devolution Cabinet Secretary and is directly involved in activities that are formulated in the Senate,” he said, “Clearly, it’s God’s plan that we come together,” he said.
