A somber mood engulfed Soweto village, Moi’s Bridge in Soy Sub County after a 10-year-old girl was defiled before being murdered and her body dumped on a railway line in the area.
According to the deceased’s mother Mrs. Sharon Sakwa, she sent her daughter Stacy Nabiswa to the shop on Wednesday evening but she never returned.
She said after waiting for her in vain she launched a search for her with help of neighbours and other family members but she was nowhere to be found.
After an unsuccessful search deep into the night, they resorted to have a rest and resume the following morning.
However Mrs. Sakwa said on Thursday, early in the morning she was woken up by a young boy informing her that there was a body of a girl which had been discovered by passers-by dumped on the railway line.
“I rushed to the scene and I was shocked to find it was the body of my beloved daughter Stacy Nabiswa,” said the mother.
The deceased’s granny Mrs. Ann Manyonge condemned the incident and appealed for justice for her granddaughter. “A thorough investigation should be carried out to ensure those behind the cruel murder of my granddaughter face the full wrath of law,” said the granny.
Confirming the incident, Soy sub county police commander SCPC Nasio Patel said the girl was defiled before being strangled to death.
“Her body was found oozing blood from her private parts a clear indication that she was defiled before she was murdered,” said the police boss.
Patel said his officers had launched a investigation into the incident and we working on crucial lead that will see the culprit apprehended and face the law.
