A total of one hundred and twenty three students from needy families in Nandi have benefited from Elimu Scholarship courtesy of Equity Bank Nandi County Branch.
Speaking during the flagship of the scholarships, Kapsabet Branch Equity Bank Manager Mr. Ken Ruto said the beneficiaries are from very humble family backgrounds who were selected to join form one this year but due to their financial incapability had not managed to join thus Equity bank both branches of Kapsabet and Nandi hills came to their rescue to ensure they realize their educational dreams and as a bank at large are optimistic that they will excel.
Ruto confirmed that out of the one hundred and twenty three beneficiaries, sixty eight were from Kapsabet and fifty five from Nandi hills respectively.
He added that these beneficiaries had scored a total of two hundred and eighty and above marks in their KCPE and the Bank through Elimu scholarships saw it good to chip in and offer their support as it has been their culture.
On the other hand, Nandi Central Deputy County Commissioner Obed Mose who witnessed the Elimu scholarship flagship exercise held outside Equity bank Kapsabet branch, lauded the continuous effort of the Bank in supporting needy students pursue and realize their educational dreams urging other Banks to borrow a leaf and take suit for corporate social responsibilities.
He revealed that Nandi Central as at now has achieved 94 % of government secondary schools transition adding that by 20th May 2022, Friday they will attain the 100‰ transition.
