13 Covid-19 patients among them 7 prisoners from the Kapsabet GK prison in Nandi are receiving treatment at the Nandi hills isolation centre. This is according to Nandi Health CEC Ruth Koech who said the rise in Covid-19 cases in the County is due to recklessness among residents, who aren’t following the Ministry of Health’s safety directives.
She said the positive cases of Covid-19 in Nandi last week were 79 but have now risen to 122, with 60 active, 47 are under the home based care and 13 are at the isolation centre. She regretted that residents have loosened their adherence to the directives, noting that many don’t wear masks or regularly wash their hands with soap and water no more.
