Grief has gripped Kilimani village in Likuyani location in Likuyani sub county after a 14-year-old boy was brutally murdered in a cold bold and his body dumped and locked inside his grandfather’s house.
According to the deceased’s grandfather Mr. Binainza Kidavi who works in Nairobi, his grandson, Regan Trivo who was a standard seven pupil at Kambi Mapesa primary school has been living alone in the compound before the innocent boy was secretly murdered by unknown assailants.
He said he has been communicating with his grandson daily through the phone to find out how he was fairing on since the beginning of the year after he (Kidavi) divorced his wife who was taking care of the boy but since 23rd December, 2020 he has been trying to reach him unsuccessfully.
“I had been trying to call him for four days but his phone remained out of reach,” said Kidavi.
He said he became suspicious after several tries unsuccessfully forcing him to travel to the village and when he reached the compound, he found the gate closed and the main door to his house locked with a padlock from outside.
He tried to call the grandson in vain before he decided to break the door and was shocked to be welcomed by an odorous smell inside the house before stumbling on his body lying in a pool of blood.
The body which had serious visible injuries was later removed by police officers from Matunda police station and taken to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital Eldoret awaiting postmortem.
The incident has been confirmed by acting Likuyani location Chief Peter Lugano who has appealed for anyone who has information about the incident to relay it to the security apparatus for appropriate action to be taken.
