A total of 17,000 birth certificates in Nandi County have been processed following a back log and are ready to be represented to the rightful owners. This is according to the Nandi County Commissioner Mr. Olaka Kutswa who asked the residents to visit various birth certificates registration offices to collect them. “We had a back log of more than ten thousands birth certificates due to the default of the printer but in partnership with our head office we manage to fix the problem and the work is going on well,” he said.
Addressing the public at Got Ne Leel secondary school grounds in Tindiret sub-county during the Jamhuri Day celebrations, Kutswa said the government has opened up a new registration office in Kabiyet, Mosop sub-county to ease the work, and he urged the residents who reside in the area to pick their birth certificates from there.
The commissioner also said the public can find birth certificates in Nandi Hills and Kapsabet registry offices respectively citing that service delivery in these offices has been enhanced.
