A two year old baby is receiving treatment at Busia County referral hospital after she was defiled at dumped in a thicket at Burumba estate in Busia town. The baby whose parents are yet to be identified was rescued by members of public and taken to the hospital where she was immediately put under medication as irate locals tracked down the suspect, beat him up before taking him to Busia police station where he is being detained awaiting to be arraigned in court after investigations are concluded.

The hospital pediatric nurse Naomi Situma told journalists the baby was in deep pain at the time she was brought into the facility but was in stable condition by press time and had been put on Post Exposure Prophylaxis and antibiotic management treatment. She added that currently the child is under the Busia children’s department as the search for her parents continues.
