Former deputy Prime Minister Musalia Mudavadi has urged Jubilee government to create more jobs for the youth in a bid to alleviate them from poverty and improve their living standards.
Addressing youths across the County at his home in Mululu, Sabatia Sub County on Saturday, he said the youth had been sidelined by successive governments and it was time the government comes up with better strategies to address the matter.
”Governments should be committed and address high rates of unemployment among the youth for sustainable development,” said Mudavadi.
He said his Party Amani National Congress (ANC) once in power will strive and ensure economy grow by at least 10 percent of the Country’s GDP on a sustainable basis over a period of time to tame unemployment in the country.
“We need about ten years to grow our economy consistently at 10% and beat unemployment instead of the current 5 percent,” noted Mudavadi.
He challenged the youth to join ANC that he said would come up with policies that would uplift their economic standards and give them slots in the party.
He promised the youth of fair nominations and encouraged them to vie for elective posts in the coming elections and called on them to register as voters.
